During the warm summer months you want to refresh yourself with a nice swim, or just hang out at the beach. When in the June Lake Loop area, there are some great opportunities for water-based recreation. The crystal-clear refreshing sierra water awaits you.
At the June Lake Beach you can enjoy sand and sun, with restroom and shower facilities. There are some picnic tables and a volleyball net, and a large swimming area that is buoyed off from the fishing boats. You don't have to give up your days at the beach just because you are in the mountains!
June Lake is also a great place to launch a small sailboat or ride a sailboard. Other waters around the Loop are great for swimming as well, although there may not be areas designated as such, and you should be respectful of fishermen who may be plying the waters.
Some of the local marinas rent canoes, kayaks and/or pedal-operated paddleboats so you can enjoy the water. Try a paddleboat ride on Gull Lake, for instance: you won't regret it!
At Grant Lake you can launch your power boat or personal watercraft. There is a 10 mph speed limit until 10:00 am, but during the rest of the day Grant Lake is a fabulous place for jetskiing, waterskiing, wakeboarding and all of your water related action sports, as well as sail-based water sports, even kite-boarding!
