The area's USDA Forest Service campgrounds will now be run by a new concessioner.
California Land Management is the new operator of the campgrounds here in the June Lake Loop. They recently won a five-year contract with the Forest Service in a bidding contest with seven other prospective concessioners, including Mammoth Mountain, Sierra Recreation, and former operators Rocky Mountain Recreation.
Some local residents have voiced their opinions that a local company should have obtained the contract, rather than a large corporation. CLM manages some 85 other campgrounds throughout the state. New campground manager Dean Townsend comes to us from the San Bernardino Forest area.

are the new operators running the camp now? i was at the campground this memorial and had a nasty conversation with a women while trying to check in, almost left then, wont be back, wont recomend.
