June Lake local thinks its ok to let her dog doo doo on the pristine Oh Ridge Beach because "It's the Sierra's" ???
This Wednesday morning while enjoing the beach area of the Oh Ridge Campground we watched an older lady who was fishing return to her vehicle only to let her dogs do their business right on the pathway to the beach. She then loaded up her dogs and proceeded to leave the area without cleaning up after her dogs.
Thinking she forgot to pick up after them, I very politely reminded her that her dogs did their business and that she forgot to pick it up.
When I reminded her she said " I know it's the Sierra's" I was absolutely shocked by the attitude that it was ok to let her dogs do that and that it was ok, even more so due to the fact that her white Jeep SUV had a license plate frame that said "Catch Rainbow Trout Fish June Lake"
In spite of my urging her to be a responsible pet owner and steward of the environment she continued to laugh at the idea of being a responsible pet owner.
I am embarassed for her dogs.

June Lake is a very dog-friendly place, but we do have rules. Dogs are not supposed to be allowed at the June Lake Beach. There are many other places you can take your dogs. You need to use a leash in town: and yes, if your pet leaves waste where someone may step in it you should clean it up!
Unfortunately people break rules all the time... sometimes we have to just forgive and move on. I hope that you didn't let this incident spoil your entire day.
What leads you the conclusion that this woman is a "June Lake Local?" She might be, but on the other hand-- anyone can buy a license plate frame.
